Francs

The name of Côtes de Francs has its origins in the early sixth century.
After battle of vouillé in 507, Clovis, first king of Francs, defeated Alaric II, king of the Visigoths ans seized Aquitaine.
The location then fixed a detachment of the Franque army was called in Latin " Ad Francos" or in French "Aux Francs" later "Francs".
