Vineyard location : : on the right bank of the Garonne, it lies between Bordeaux and Langon in a thin 60km long strip, never exceeding 5km/3 miles large

Area: 2 653 hectares spread over 39 villages (with the creation of the AOC Côtes de Bordeaux, the villages Sainte Croix du Mont and Loupiac are part of the production area).

Soil: gravel topped limestone slopes, clay-limestone halfway up, fine gravels with silicious elements at the hills foot. Temperate climate by the proximity of the river. Terroirs sloping and exposed south/south west with strong rate sunshine.

Grape varieties:
Red: 55 % merlot, 25 % cabernet-sauvignon, 15 % cabernet franc and 5% malbec.

History :

Many Roman relics testify to the existence of the vine at this time.
XIe - XIIe : Romanesque Churches (Cardan, Haux, Laroque).
XIIIe : feudal Castle of Langoiran.
XVIIe : Castle of the « Ducs d'Epernon » at Cadillac
XVIIIe : the bourgeois of Bordeaux wine control access into the city, they settled on the slopes of the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux to build beautifull houses called « Folies 

Tourism :

The vineyards of Côtes de Bordeaux can be tasted in small sips through across its landscapes, churches « romanes » heritage, beautifull residences in the vineyards, its exceptional sites like Langoiran's fortress, the château de Cadillac or la cité médièvale de Rions.
